Overview
Pioneer Hall is the first building built on the Santa Rosa campus and was completed on May 29, 1931. In the 1960s, the Field Act mandated that public buildings meet new earthquake standards. Since Pioneer Hall predated the Field Act, it was retrofitted to maintain the architectural design and meet the new requirements.
The Bookstore was located in room 73 of Analy Hall from the 1940s until the 1960s, at which time it moved to Doyle Student Center. During Spring Break of 1973, it then moved to Pioneer Hall where it has remained ever since.
